OUTREACH

Our Outreach Ministry Teams look beyond the walls of Cross and Crown to seek opportunities to be Christ’s hands and feet in the community, the country and the world. Some of our current outreach ministry opportunities are listed below. We also provide the opportunity for interested parties to form their own ministry teams to support causes that are dear to them.

CHRISTIAN SERVICE MINISTRY

Coordination of the Christian Service Ministry's activities is handled by Jean Woods, jeanwoods@earthlink.net

Ministries include:

  • Shalom Zone - A group of area churches dedicated to outreach projects to benefit our community. Shalom Zone members include: Allisonville Christian Church, Cross & Crown, Epworth United Methodist Church, First Friends Quaker Meeting and St. Pius X Catholic Church.
  • Prayer Shawls - Volunteers make beautiful shawls and lap robes for friends, relatives, neighbors or a friends of a friend in need of comfort. As our craftspersons work on an article, they pray for the healing and comfort of the recipient. When they are delivered, a note accompanies the shawls that tells of God's arms being wrapped around them. We also give out shawls for celebrations such as birth, graduation, etc. There is no cost involved. Just call the church office.
